Our expectation: aggressive growth for emerging countries

During an exclusive interview to Top Team, Fabio Salata, the marketing and demand director of the Italian Chiesi pharmaceuticals, states: "Due to the negative moments that European countries have faced, I see that there is a great expectation for aggressive growth in emerging countries".

A Biologist who became an executive
For seven years, Marcelo Munhoz, the Sales Force manager at Bayer HealthCare, worked as a biologist in the Ministry of Agriculture. "I carried out a research with fish, more specifically with Sardinella brasiliensis, aiming to establish the period of the species preservation", recalls the executive. However, does this experience with fish help the executive in the pharmaceutical industry, in his daily routine? Munhoz confirms and states: "in the laboratory, by running analyses and records, I developed the report system and sharpened the task of transporting to the paper the observations made. In the field, I mean, in the sea, by collecting samples I could improve the team work".

Developing skills
According to the National Sales Force manager of Bayer HealthCare, "the search for complementary studies expands the way the professional acts by developing skills and competencies that will impact in their activities". He defends, therefore, that the professional who works in the pharmaceutical industry should not search for knowledge related only to his field.

Modernity X Experience
What is really worth for a professional of the pharmaceutical industry: modernity (know how to work with social networks, for instance) or experience (have worked in other companies in the same segment)? Munhoz does not believe in formulas or labels. For him, "it is more valuable to search for information and professional skills than follow/interpret the market dynamics, as we usually have to update ourselves as professionals, that is, search for the latest news by using all the tools available, including the social network".
