In this issue, Top Team proposes five themes
to a professional of the pharmaceutical industry for him to talk
briefly about. The guest of this edition is José Ricardo
Mendes, the general director of Ache, who has recently received
some journalists for an interview. “We are known as the market

José Ricardo Mendes: In 2007
we are going to export approximately seven million dollars. In 2008,
this number will reach fifteen million.
Top Team: Start-up Capital.
José Ricardo Mendes: Ache
is ready in technical terms to raise start-up capital. However,
I can´t say when it is going to happen because it depends
on several things.
Top Team: Acquisitions.
José Ricardo Mendes: We are
known as the market byers. In 2003, we acquired Asta Médica and
in 2005 Biosintética. We have searched for selective acquisitions
and for purchasing laboratories in order to ge into new markets.
Top Team: Aché main goals.
José Ricardo Mendes: To be
the best and the most profitable company of the sector. Our last
financial results prove that we´ve been on the right way.
Top Team: Launches in 2007.
José Ricardo Mendes:
For this year, we are going to have twenty-five launches, five are
prescription drugs while twenty are generics.
