Treatment and control
“Sanofi is a company in search for innovative solutions to meet the diabetes patients demand and improve their quality of life. The company has been establishing worldwide partnerships for new blood glucose monitoring solutions development as well as for the treatment and control of diabetes”, says Leyla Simões, the product manager at Hidrastar, the new line of products at Sanofi Diabetes.
Bets for 2014
According to the manager, among the launches for 2014 in Brazil, are the blood glucose meters - BGStar® and iBGStar™. “They represent a new generation of blood glucose meters with innovations that change the way physicians and patients keep diabetes under control. iBGStar, for instance, is a blood glucose meter that connects and transfer data to the iPhone. That is something brand new and connected to the present lifestyle”.
The diabetes market
“The search for innovation concerning prevention and Diabetes control is one of the main concerns of Sanofi Diabetes platform. Only in Brazil, the disease has reached 13 million people. In order to meet the needs of this target audience as a whole and in an integrated way, Hidrastar launched a new category for Sanofi Diabetes – dermocosmetics for people with Diabetes”. The line, according to Leyla, combines ingredients at optimal concentrations in formula for rapid absorption and dry touch, which leaves no residue. “There are two products: Hidrastar foot cream and moisturizing body lotion, both products have been clinically tested in people with diabetes, which tends to keep the skin drier, which makes it more important for hydration”.
