The new Lupa de Ouro Award neutralization
A team formed by the Grupemef president, Sônia Orestes, by the director of the Social Action department at pharmexx Brazil, Angélica Leone Rossetti, and by the coordinator of Lupa de Ouro Award 2007, Midori Yamamoto, visited the State Water and Electric Energy Department (DAEE), in Salesópolis, where seeds will be planted to neutralize, for the first time, the Pharmaceutical Marketing Oscar.
Sônia observes that the neutralization of Lupa de Ouro Award, sponsored by pharmexx Brazil, meets Grupemef philosophy, the organizer of Lupa Award. “The pharmaceutical companies should be concerned about environment by compensating the pollution emitted and by replacing the resources taken from nature”, explains Sônia.
The president adds that she will soon invite the pharmaceutical industry to make projects on neutralization. “Most times the pharmaceutical companies just take punctual actions, without continuing it. They must invest in environmental projects besides recruiting suppliers who share the same concern.”
Planting – According to the DAEE technical division leader, José Alves Barreto, 92 seeds species will be planted. “This work will be done from November to January, during rainy seasons. We will check the trees´ growth and when they reach one year they will be already compensating the CO2 emitted.”
The director of the Social Action Department at pharmexx Brazil, Angélica Leone Rossetti, highlights that 728 trees will be planted. “Besides neutralizing the Lupa de Ouro Award, we will also be compensating all the CO2 emitted by our sales team. The planet’s resources are, unfortunately, very rare and we need to do everything possible to preserve them.”
