All you’ve
always wanted to know about the Casual Day
The
Causal Day was designed to celebrate the end of the week and the
beginning of the leisure days, it means relaxation and informality
among executives. ‘It is known not only by the informal clothes
but also by the longer lunch times.’, summarizes Dino Mocsányi,
business consultant and a multinational executive for over twenty
years.
However, not everything is allowed. On the casual
day you must be careful about some things. Mocsányi explains
that the executives should wear sports clothes but respect the company’s
policy and preserve the sober image and the low profile required
by the work environment. ‘I generally see some workers who
are too informal. Women wearing sensual skirts or dresses, appropriate
for Saturday nights though totally inappropriate for an office.
Boys wearing T-shirts designed for the weekend on the beach, at
a club or events with friends, totally standing out when compared
to usual workdays.’
Besides such recommendations, the consultant
adds that wearing tennis shoes do not look good. ‘There are
some sports shoes that are acceptable such as docksider because
they balance sports and social look. Not wearing a tie and suit
on Friday does not mean that we are already on the beach or at a
party’, says Mocsányi.
